Can you really have everything you want: love, money, fame…just from thinking about it? It sounds implausible to many people which is why so many people ask the question: “Is the secret real?”. After all, wouldn’t it make life so much easier if the secret is real and we can attract anything that we want. Let’s take a closer look…
Is The Secret Real?
One of the big problems with answering this question is that different people have different ideas on what ‘The Secret’ actually is. So, when they are discussing whether or not the secret is real they can often draw very different conclusions.
What ‘The Secret’ Is:
The Secret is a logical step by step process that needs to be followed which will then allow you to achieve your goals faster, whatever they maybe. This is explained in more detail here.
‘The |Secret’ is a well thought out yet still natural process that can be undertaken by anyone. The Secret is another name for the ‘Law of Attraction’ which holds it’s premise in the fact that like attracts like. No, ‘The Secret’ is not real if You Think that:
- It is a form of magic
- It is an easy way to get what you want
- It is a shortcut to riches
- No effort is required
Do Thoughts Really Become Things?
Yes they do…and know they don’t. Some people read that sentence and think it is too fanciful, I mean how can a thought become a physical thing, such as money. Quite easily really but the key is in the word ‘becomes’ which implies something has to happen for the thought to become a
thing and that would be exactly right. For your thought of money to become a thing such as cash in your hand, something does have to happen, you have to go out and earn it, simple as that, no magic and very believable. Going back to the above statement, now it doesn’t seem quite so incredulous, so really it depends on how you look at these things as to what answer you will find.
‘The Secret’ is really a way of focussing your mind and your ife to achieve the goals you desire as soon as you can.
Most people are willing to accept that concepts such as goal setting, visualisation, positive habits, positive thinking, positive action, organised
planning, being persistent and having belief in what you are doing are all fairly common sense principles that will all help you achieve your goals a bit quicker. Now, if you were to apply all of those principles together on one focussed objective do you not think that you might not achieve your goal fairly quickly. That is exactly what using the secret is all about. Combing all of those concepts persistently over time to achieve your desires. All of a sudden it doesn’t seem like such a ridiculous idea.
Why All The Controversy Surrounding ‘The Secret’
Well, first of all the Law of Attraction has been around for a long long time, however when the movie ‘The Secret’ was made it was the first time that this concept had been packaged, hyped up and marketed in this manner…and let’s face it there were quite a few misleading scenes during the movie which gave a false impression of how it works, e.g. One scene shows a girl looking at a necklace in a shop window and in the next scene she is being given the necklace, hhhmmmm.
And as we all know the movie was a great hit, sales took off and it seemed that everyone wanted there own share of the profits, new books were coming out each month and more and more people, celebrities included were coming out in support of the secret all with their own slightly different take on it. With so many people not quite understanding the concept of the law of attraction and peoples willingness to get carried away with the philosophy that everyone can have everything they wanted there was always going to be a bit of a crash at some point.
And so it came to be that a great deal of people were exposed to the secret but perhaps never really got to grips with what it was
and hence didn’t have much success with it. Those that stuck with it and could see what it was really all about of course have never looked back and opinions have remained divided ever since.
In Conclusion…
To return to the original question “Is ‘The Secret’ real? It is if you think it is, it isn’t if you think it isn’t. As with most things in life, you get what you think about most…I think I’ve heard that somewhere before too…
