6 Easy ways To Be Positive Today

Have you ever found yourself getting caught up in negativity? Have you ever found yourself being dragged down to low level of optimism by your circumstances? Well, if so here are a few really easy to follow positive thinking guidelines that can help you stay positive and improve your mood on a daily basis. Here they are:

1) Instead of writing a long 'to do' list write a 'to be' list. Life is about 'being' something not doing things. Placing pressure on yourself to get certain things done is not the healthiest thing to do. If you write a 'to be' list of lets say: be determined, be efficient, that will see you through your workload without the pressure. Also adding words like be considerate of others, be happy, be forgiving, be thankful is a really great way to stay in a positive frame of mind. You can even tick these off when you have experienced that moment of beingness and you'll get a good feeling doing so.

2) Don't be in such a hurry to switch the television on in the morning. You know the inevitable truck load of bad news that you are going to get, so instead why not take a bit of time-out to run through your goals, visualise what you want to achieve, meditate, or make a few affirmations. Any of those type of activities will start you thinking positive at the start of the day instead of negatively.

3) Sift through your thoughts. Don't just focus on the next thought that comes in to your mind. I know they seem to come in rather randomly and there often doesn't seem to be much choice in what comes in, but you can sure as heck decide whether you focus on that thought or feeling or not. If it's a negative thought in your head simply consciously be aware of it and select a new thought. With practise you will start to do this automatically and it will make a big difference to your general day to day mood and success in life.

4) we all know that we are to a certain extent a product of our enviroment so why the heck do you allow yourself to associate with such negative unfriendly people. I know you can't just cut certain people out of your life but what you can do is do the oppostie. Deliberately seek out positive people before the negative people manage to get their energy sapping claws into you. Go ahead and start a conversation witth that positive person with a smile on their face, it's better than listening to the moaner!

5) Be grateful for what you have got and don't compare what you have got to others. we all come from a completely different spectrum of experiences in life so why compare, what's the point? Certain people have more than you, certain people have less, get over it and be happy for what you've got: health, a place to live, food on the table, friends, family, arms, legs and so on. There are hundreds of things to be thankful for, run them through your head several times a day and you'll remain positive.

6) Slap a smile on your face. Doing this one tiny thing can have a dramatic impact. People are much more responsive to you for a start and will more than likley be happy and smiley when they talk back to you. Also smiling actually makes the body release certain chemicals which make the body say to itself 'yes i'm happy' and it then goes ahead a releases these chemicals to enhance your mood. Try it.
 
Try the above tips out  for thirty days and see how you feel. Why thirty days? Well it takes about that long too install a new habit so after that time you can easily keep doing it or stop if you so wish. At least give it a go!
